About the programme

Six days across Georgia add up to a leisurely movement from the capital to the wine valleys, to ancient temples and mountain resorts — and back to Tbilisi, which opens up in a new way at the end. The rhythm of the trip changes: one day is given to the city and one's own affairs, others are filled with the road and impressions, and there is also one where the main thing is simply to stop and breathe.

It all begins in Tbilisi, where tourists arrive on their own, and the meeting and the road to the hotel take on the cares of the first impression. The first day is left free: the city can be felt without a schedule, unhurried, and this sets the tone for the whole trip.

Then the route goes to Kakheti — the most generous and sunny part of the country, where the air is soaked with grapes. Here there is both spiritual silence, and white-stone streets, and bread straight from the oven, and wine that tells stories. Next — Mtskheta and Jvari: a day dedicated to the origins of the Georgian faith, ancient walls and the place where two rivers merge into one.

The fourth day is the most intense and long: the road to the south, the cave city in the rock, the fortress in Akhaltsikhe and the transfer to Borjomi, where after a busy journey it is especially pleasant to breathe in the moist mountain air. The fifth day begins with a leisurely walk around Borjomi and a spring with mineral water, and ends with a sightseeing tour of Tbilisi — from the cathedral to the old city with its baths and lanes. The last day — only breakfast, packing and transfer to the airport.

This trip is for those who want to see Georgia in its variety: urban and mountainous, noisy and quiet, spiritual and festive. The pace is uneven — there are calm days and days on the road, but that is exactly what makes the journey alive.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

Arrival in Tbilisi and meeting at the airport — the road to the hotel takes about half an hour. Check-in is possible after 15:00, and before that the day remains free: you can take a walk around the city or simply rest after the journey. The night passes in Tbilisi.

  2. Day 2

The main impression of the day is Kakheti and the Alazani Valley, where the air smells of grapes. It all begins with Bodbe Monastery, where silence reigns, and then the route leads to Sighnaghi with its white-stone streets and a view of the valley. Along the way — a stop in a village where Georgian puri bread is baked, and a tasting of Kakhetian wine. The day is intense, but leaves a light grape warmth and a feeling of touching the very essence of Georgia.

  3. Day 3

This day is dedicated to spiritual Georgia and passes more calmly than the previous one. First — Jvari Monastery on the top of a mountain, from where a view of the confluence of two rivers opens, and in clear weather Kazbek is visible. Then a descent into ancient Mtskheta with its narrow lanes and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, where semi-darkness reigns and a feeling of silence. Return to Tbilisi and the night in the city.

  4. Day 4

The longest and most intense day of the trip: the road leads to the south, where the mountains are higher and the air is fresher. The main impression is the cave city of Vardzia of the 12th century, carved into the rock, with its passages and chapels. Then — Rabat Fortress in Akhaltsikhe with paved paths and arches; one can climb to the museum and observation platforms if desired. The day ends with a transfer to Borjomi and rest there.

  5. Day 5

The day begins unhurriedly, in Borjomi: a walk through the City Park and a spring with mineral water, the taste of which is remembered for a long time. Here one wants to stop and simply breathe the mountain air under the noise of the river. Then — return to Tbilisi and a sightseeing tour: Tsminda Sameba Cathedral, Rezo Gabriadze Theater with its crooked tower, the ancient Anchiskhati temple, the Bridge of Peace, Shardeni Street and the Abanotubani sulfur baths with the Fig Waterfall. The day turns out motley — here there is both antiquity, and invention, and everyday city bustle.

  6. Day 6

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out by 12:00. Then — transfer to Tbilisi airport for any flight. A day of farewell to Georgia, without excursions and transfers.
