Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Jvari and Batumi: 5-day sightseeing tour

This trip is about Georgia in its two dimensions: the spiritual, old one, rising to the sky on the peaks, and the sea one, lazy, smelling of salt and wine. Four nights and five days of the route are arranged so that first you look at the country from a height, listen to its history in ancient walls, and then descend to the water and simply live by the sea. The route passes through Tbilisi and Batumi, and the journey between them is not just a road, but a change of rhythm: from stone, gathered, saturated — to warm and unhurried.

The first day is the calmest and the most "empty" in a good sense. You are only arriving and checking in, and nothing is required of you except to get used to the air and look around. This is a day on the border between the road and the trip itself.

The second day is the heart of the whole program. It begins high in the mountains, at the walls of an ancient monastery, from where a view opens onto two rivers meeting below, and onto distant Kazbek, if the weather is lucky. Then you descend into the old city with its narrow streets and the main cathedral, where inside there is semi-darkness, candles and a feeling that the air is thicker than usual. Then — a transfer to the coast, and you find yourself already in another world, by the sea.

The next two days — almost without a program: breakfast, sea, walks, coffee and wine, salty air. This is a time when you can be late for nothing. And on the last day — a transfer to Batumi airport and a flight home.

Who this suits: those who want to see both ancient temples and the sea in one trip, and at the same time not live by a schedule all five days. Here there is both a busy day with history and views, and two full days for rest. The pace of the trip is from gathered to relaxed, and this, it seems, is its main rhythm.
