Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Kakheti and Sighnaghi: 5-day sightseeing tour

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1

   Arrival in Tbilisi and check-in at the hotel after three o'clock in the afternoon. The road from the airport takes about half an hour, depending on the traffic situation. Today there are no excursions — a free day to rest after the flight or to walk around the city on your own. Overnight in Tbilisi, meals not included.

2. Day 2

   The day begins with an ascent to the Jvari Monastery on the top of the mountain, from where a view of the confluence of the Aragvi and the Kura opens. This is the main impression of the morning — an ancient temple and two rivers flowing side by side. Then a descent into Mtskheta, where among the narrow streets stands the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, and lunch at a restaurant at your own expense.

   After returning to Tbilisi — a walk around the city: the Tsminda Sameba Cathedral, the Rezo Gabriadze Theater with its tower and angel, the Anchiskhati Church, the Bridge of Peace, Shardeni Street, the Abanotubani sulfur baths and the Fig Waterfall. The day is packed, with a lot of walking and impressions. By evening, return to the hotel. Breakfast included.

3. Day 3

   A trip to Kakheti, to the Alazani Valley. First the Bodbe Monastery, where the relics of Saint Nino rest, — a quiet place among the vineyards. Then the town of Sighnaghi with white-stone streets and a view of the valley, known as the city of love.

   Further — the village of Badiauri, where you can try bread just taken out of the tone oven, and a tasting of Kakhetian wine. The bread baking master class and the tasting are included in the price. Return to Tbilisi, overnight at the hotel. Breakfast included.

4. Day 4

   This day is confirmed without a choice: either Borjomi with the cave town of Uplistsikhe, or Kazbegi with the Ananuri Fortress, the Zhinvali Reservoir and the Arch of Friendship. In both cases the road takes up most of the day.

   If Borjomi — a walk through the city park and mineral water from the spring, then Uplistsikhe with stone passages and a view of the Mtkvari valley. Lunch at your own expense. In bad weather, a replacement with Gori and the Chronicles of Georgia memorial is possible. If Kazbegi — a stop at Ananuri, a pause at the Arch of Friendship in Gudauri, lunch in Mleta at your own expense and a jeep ascent to the Gergeti Church at the foot of Kazbek — payment for the jeeps on the spot. Overnight in Tbilisi, breakfast included.

5. Day 5

   Breakfast at the hotel and check-out before noon. Then a transfer to Tbilisi airport for any flight. The trip ends.
