Beijing, Xi'an, Hangzhou and Shanghai: 10-day sightseeing tour

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1

   The day begins with arrival in Beijing, a meeting at the airport and lunch at the Peking Duck restaurant — it is immediately clear that the trip will be with taste. Then — the Temple of Heaven with its history of prayers for the harvest and the Summer Imperial Palace with gardens and ponds. By the end of the day — a transfer to the hotel and rest after the journey.

2. Day 2

   Today — the heart of Beijing: the Forbidden City museum with imperial interiors, Tiananmen Square and Dashilan shopping street. Lunch at a Chinese cuisine restaurant is already included, so you can not be distracted by searching for food. Return to the hotel and free time; optionally, for an additional fee, you can go to the Peking Opera or the circus.

3. Day 3

   Departure early in the morning with luggage — a day of travel, but not to the detriment of impressions. The main thing — the Great Wall of China, the Mutianyu section with a cable car: from there a view of the wall and nature opens up. On the way, if there is time left, — the Yonghe Temple; then a train to Xi'an, a meeting with the guide and the hotel.

4. Day 4

   The day is dedicated to the terracotta army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang — thousands of statues of warriors, horses and chariots created in the 3rd century BC. After that — the ancient city wall, one of the most preserved in China. Dinner with the folklore show "Dumpling Banquet" introduces the cuisine of Shaanxi province. Then a transfer to the hotel and free time.

5. Day 5

   In the morning — the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a symbol of Xi'an, and a transfer by express to Luoyang, the ancient capital. After lunch — the Longmen Grottoes with statues of Buddhist deities, reliefs and inscriptions. The day is busy, but ends calmly: transfer to the hotel, check-in and free time.

6. Day 6

   From Luoyang — to Shaolin, to the monastery where martial arts are taught and where they teach to comprehend energy. Nearby — the Tallin Pagoda Forest, where the pagodas serve as tombs of outstanding monks of different dynasties. After lunch — a transfer to Zhengzhou railway station and a fast train to Hangzhou; on arrival — a meeting, transfer and rest.

7. Day 7

   Hangzhou greets with water: a boat trip on West Lake and a walking tour in the park for atmospheric photos. Then — the Temple of the Soul's Retreat with its architecture and statues and the Six Harmonies Pagoda. After visiting a tea plantation in the surroundings of the lake — a transfer to the railway station and a trip to Shanghai, where the hotel and rest await you.

8. Day 8

   Shanghai shows itself from the classical side: the Garden of Joy with rockeries, pavilions and ponds, the Jade Buddha Temple with a two-meter statue of white jade. Lunch is included. And the day is completed by the Oriental Pearl TV Tower — from its observation decks the whole city is visible.

9. Day 9

   A free day without a guide: you can wander the streets and look into a cafe or a museum, or you can go to a zoo or on a river walk with a seafood dinner. Such options are available for a separate fee, the details should be clarified in advance. You set the pace of the day yourself.

10. Day 10

    Breakfast at the hotel, then you need to check out of the room and get to the airport — a flight home is ahead. The trip ends, but the feeling of ten densely lived days and the desire to return remain.
