Shanghai, Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang: 7-day sightseeing tour

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1

   Arrival in Shanghai and immediately a transfer to the flight to Zhangjiajie: tourists collect and check in their baggage on their own. In Zhangjiajie they are met without a guide and taken to the hotel, where check-in is also on their own. The day passes on the road and in well-deserved rest before the excursions.

2. Day 2

   The first truly mountainous day: after breakfast and a meeting with the guide, the group ascends by cable car to the Tianzi Mountains. Views open up that are recognized from the cult film “Avatar”, and the descent by the “Hundred Dragons” elevator allows one to look at the cliffs from below, from an unusual angle. The day ends with dinner and return to the hotel.

3. Day 3

   A day of water and stone: a boat ride on Baofeng Lake with its calm surface, then a descent into the “Yellow Dragon” Cave with whimsical stalactites and stalagmites. A separate impression is a walk over the abyss on a glass walkway: below an abyss opens up, and broad panoramas unfold around, and it seems as if one is soaring in the air. In the evening, dinner and rest at the hotel.

4. Day 4

   The transfer to Fenghuang takes four hours, and this is a day of changing scenery: instead of cliffs — an old town by the water. A walk around Fenghuang and a boat ride on the Tuojiang River give the opportunity to see the canals, ancient bridges and traditional houses from the water. Overnight stay — at a hotel in Fenghuang.

5. Day 5

   Return to Zhangjiajie, where the program concludes with an excursion to Tianmen Mountain — the Mountain of the Heavenly Gate. This is a huge natural cave at an altitude of about 1300 meters above sea level, which is often shrouded in fog. After dinner — a transfer to the airport and a flight to Shanghai; upon arrival, a meeting without a guide and check-in at the hotel.

6. Day 6

   Shanghai is shown from two sides: first the Garden of Joy with its pavilions, bridges and atmosphere of calm, then the Oriental Pearl TV Tower with a height of 468 m — from its observation deck views of the city and the river open up. Lunch takes place in a Chinese cuisine restaurant. After the excursion — a transfer to the hotel and free time; by evening one can book places for an evening cruise with dinner on the Huangpu River for an extra charge, clarifying the conditions at the time of booking.

7. Day 7

   Transfer to the airport without a guide and departure home. The international flight is not included in the program, so it must be planned separately.
