Shanghai, Zhangjiajie and Beijing: 9-day sightseeing tour
Days: 9Flight included, chosen at booking
About the programme
Eight days in China are two different rhythms in one trip. First Shanghai: a city that reveals itself through ancient gardens, and through observation decks, and through water. Then a flight into the interior of the country, to the landscapes of Zhangjiajie, where the day is built around boats, glass and climbs into the mountains. The finale is Beijing, the ancient capital with its vast spaces and monuments.
The route includes domestic flights: Shanghai — Zhangjiajie, then Zhangjiajie — Beijing. Air tickets are already included in the program, as are hotel accommodation, breakfasts, lunches according to the program, entrance tickets, a Russian-speaking guide and transport on excursions. Additionally, only tips remain.
The first two days are Shanghai in its contrasts: a garden among skyscrapers, an observation deck high above the city, a history museum, a temple and a river cruise. Then one day goes to the transfer, but before the flight there is a stop in Zhujiajiao, a water town.
Then three days in Zhangjiajie and Beijing are already a different trip in feel: a boat on the lake, a walk on the glass bridge, a climb by cable car to the mountains and a descent by elevator. And in Beijing — the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China outside the city.
The trip will suit those who want to see both a modern metropolis, and natural landscapes, and ancient monuments in one route, and do not mind flights within the country. Day by day both the scenery and the pace change: from city bustle to mountains, from water to stone.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Shanghai greets immediately after arrival: guide, transfer, hotel accommodation. The first impression is the Garden of Joy Yuyuan, where among the city buildings you find yourself in another dimension. Then — the Oriental Pearl TV Tower with an observation deck and the Shanghai History Museum. Lunch in a Chinese cuisine restaurant and return to the hotel.
Day 2
This day is calmer than the first and rests on two points. The Jade Buddha Temple Yufosi sets a contemplative tone, and a cruise on the Huangpu River shows the city from the water. Between them — lunch in a Chinese cuisine restaurant. Return to the hotel.
Day 3
A day of transfer, but not only. Before the flight — Shanghai Venice Zhujiajiao: a water town where canals take the place of sidewalks. After lunch — transfer to the airport and flight to Zhangjiajie. On arrival — transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
Day 4
The first full day in Zhangjiajie is about water and height. First a boat on Baofeng Lake, then a leisurely walk along the glass surface of the longest such bridge. Dinner and return to the hotel. The pace is measured, but there are enough impressions.
Day 5
The most packed day of the trip: the cable car lifts to the Tianzishan mountains, then — places familiar from the film about the avatar, and the way back down on the Hundred Dragons elevator. Dinner, then transfer to the airport and flight to Beijing. On arrival — meeting, transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
Day 6
Beijing begins with the Temple of Heaven (Tiantan) and the Forbidden City Gugong. This is a day of large spaces and ancient architecture, where the scale is felt at every step. Lunch in a Chinese cuisine restaurant. Return to the hotel.
Day 7
A day outside the city. The main impression is the Great Wall of China: a climb, expanse and the feeling that you are at the edge of the world. Another stop outside the city is the Dingling tombs. Lunch in a Chinese cuisine restaurant outside the city. Return to the hotel.
Day 8
Breakfast at the hotel, check-out and transfer to the airport. Flight home. The day is short and entirely about packing — the trip ends where it began: at the airport.
