Shanghai, Zhujiajiao and Beijing: 7-day sightseeing tour

This trip is about the contrast between water and stone, between the unhurried rhythm of old streets and the scale of the capital. You begin in Shanghai, where modern towers coexist with a classical garden, and then head out to Zhujiajiao — a town where instead of asphalt there is water, and instead of cars there are boats. After two days in the seaside metropolis, a night train awaits you, which will take you to Beijing: there the pace is different, and every day is filled with imperial history and scale.

The first day is an introduction to Shanghai through two very different places: a quiet garden and an observation tower, from which the city is visible in its entirety. The second day is a trip out of town, to Zhujiajiao, where time seems to have slowed down: narrow canals, old pharmacies and post offices, boats instead of sidewalks. This is a day of unhurried strolling and local cuisine.

The third day is free in Shanghai, and then a transfer to a night train. The fourth day is already Beijing: the Yonghe Temple, Tiananmen Square, the Winter Palace and a walk along a shopping street. The fifth day is a trip to the Great Wall of China and the Summer Palace, as well as an exterior view of the Olympic venues. The sixth day is the Temple of Heaven and a tea ceremony, a calmer rhythm before the return.

The trip will suit those who want to see both modern China and its ancient corners, without rushing, but with a packed program. The night train between cities adds a feeling of travel, not just a transfer. The days differ in pace: from relaxed Zhujiajiao to packed Beijing. The flight is not included, but all transfers and excursions according to the program are organized.
