Shanghai and Zhangjiajie: 6-day sightseeing tour

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1

   The road to Zhangjiajie consists of two stages: first the arrival in Shanghai, then the flight inside China. In Shanghai, baggage is collected and re-checked for the connecting flight on one's own. Upon arrival in Zhangjiajie — transfer to the hotel without a guide, check-in is also independent. Then — rest, to gain strength before the mountains.

2. Day 2

   The first day in the mountains begins with breakfast at the hotel and a meeting with the guide at the reception. The main impression is the ascent by cable car to the Tianzi Mountains: from there views open onto the cliffs that inspired the filming of a cult film. After the tour of Avatar — the descent by the "Hundred Dragons" elevator, an unusual angle on the mountain formations. The day ends with dinner and return to the hotel.

3. Day 3

   This day is built around water and stone. After breakfast — a boat ride on Baofeng Lake, where silence and picturesque shores set a calm tone. Then a tour of the "Yellow Dragon" Cave with its stalactites and stalagmites. A separate story — a walk on foot along the glass bridge, the longest in the world: a feeling of flight over the abyss and panoramic views. Dinner and return to the hotel complete the day.

4. Day 4

   The last day in Zhangjiajie is dedicated to Tianmen Mountain, the Mountain of Heavenly Gates. A natural cave at an altitude of about 1300 meters above sea level and the fog enveloping it are the main impression of the day. After dinner — transfer to the airport and flight to Shanghai. In Shanghai, a meeting without a guide and independent accommodation.

5. Day 5

   An urban day in Shanghai: after breakfast the guide meets the group at the reception. In the program — a tour with lunch in a Chinese cuisine restaurant. The Garden of Joy with its elegant buildings, crossings and green courtyards gives a feeling of peace, and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower with a height of 468 m opens views of the city and the river from the observation deck. After the transfer to the hotel, free time remains for walks. Towards evening, one can order for an additional fee seats for an evening cruise with dinner on the Huangpu River — to be clarified at booking.

6. Day 6

   Departure day: transfer to the airport without a guide and flight home. The international flight is not included in the program, so the road should be thought out in advance. At this the route ends.
