About the programme

This trip is about China, which begins with a flight to Shanghai and immediately leads away from the metropolis: to Zhangjiajie, where places familiar from cinema hide among the mountains. The rhythm here changes several times: first a flight and a night in a hotel without a guide, then two packed days in the mountains, then Shanghai again — already with city walks and free time. The route is built around four points: Shanghai, Zhangjiajie, Suzhou or Zhujiajiao, and Shanghai again.

The first part of the trip is the nature of Zhangjiajie. Tianzi Mountain, the cable car ascent, the "Hundred Dragons" elevator, Baofeng Lake, the "Yellow Dragon" Cave and the glass bridge over the abyss. The days here are dense, but move at a calm pace: viewing platforms, a boat, a walk. The atmosphere — fog, cliffs, a sense of height.

Then the route returns to Shanghai. Here a day is dedicated to the city: the Garden of Joy with pavilions and bridges, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower with a view of the river. This is already a different rhythm — measured, urban, with lunch in a Chinese cuisine restaurant and free time after the excursion.

A separate day is set aside for a trip to Suzhou or Zhujiajiao — your choice. One of these cities is called the Chinese "Venice", and lunch is also provided there. This is an opportunity to see a different appearance of the region, unlike the Shanghai skyscrapers.

The last days in Shanghai are left for independent walks: shopping streets, the Bund. An evening cruise on the Huangpu River with dinner can be ordered for an additional fee at booking. This format will suit travelers for whom it is important to alternate mountain landscapes with urban culture and who are ready to explore part of the route on their own — transfers and accommodation in some hotels are organized without a guide.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Flight to Shanghai, then an independent transfer to a flight to Zhangjiajie. On arrival — transfer to the hotel without a guide and independent check-in. The day passes on the road and at rest, without excursions.

  2. Day 2

    The first day in the mountains begins with a cable car ascent to Tianzi Mountain: views open onto the cliffs that inspired the creators of "Avatar". Then an excursion to the places of Avatar and a descent on the "Hundred Dragons" elevator — an opportunity to look at the cliffs from below, from an unusual point. The day ends with dinner and return to the hotel.

  3. Day 3

    This day is dedicated to water and caves. A boat ride on Baofeng Lake with its calm surface, then the "Yellow Dragon" Cave with stalactites and stalagmites. The main impression is the passage along the glass walkway over the abyss: beneath your feet an abyss opens up, and around you panoramas unfold that take your breath away. Dinner and return to the hotel.

  4. Day 4

    The morning begins with an excursion to Tianmen Mountain — a natural cave at an altitude of about 1300 meters, which is often shrouded in fog. After dinner — transfer to the airport and flight to Shanghai. On arrival, a meeting without a guide and independent check-in.

  5. Day 5

    An urban day in Shanghai: an excursion with lunch in a Chinese cuisine restaurant. The Garden of Joy with pavilions, bridges and an atmosphere of calm, then the Oriental Pearl TV Tower with a height of 468 meters — an observation deck with views of the city and the river. After the excursion — transfer to the hotel and free time.

  6. Day 6

    A one-day trip with lunch to Suzhou or Zhujiajiao — your choice. One of these cities is called the Chinese "Venice". This is an opportunity to see a different rhythm and appearance of the region, unlike Shanghai. Return to Shanghai.

  7. Day 7

    A free day in Shanghai. You can stroll along the shopping streets and the Bund. For an additional fee at booking, a cruise on the Huangpu River with dinner in buffet format is available — meat dishes, seafood and vegetables without restrictions. A day without excursions and a guide.

  8. Day 8

    Transfer to the airport without a guide and departure home. The trip ends.
