About the programme
This is a journey through China, in which Shanghai, Xi'an and Beijing reveal themselves slowly and in different ways. The trip begins in Shanghai, where after a meeting at the airport there will be an introduction to the city: gardens and the observation deck of the TV tower, as well as a museum telling about the history of Shanghai. Such a first day sets the tone: many impressions, but also time to look around and get used to the rhythm.
Then the pace changes. One day in Shanghai is given to free time — you can simply take a walk or rest. Then the city sees you off with a temple and a walk along the river, after which an overnight transfer to Xi'an begins. The road takes a night, and this is another way to feel how the country changes outside the window.
Xi'an is an ancient capital, and here the trip becomes more focused: archaeology, history, silent figures of the past. After seeing the city and its wall, there will be another overnight transfer — now to Beijing.
Beijing greets with a temple, a pedestrian street and the opportunity, if desired, to go to the circus or Beijing opera for an additional payment. And the main day is a trip out of town to the Great Wall of China, after which a feeling of scale and silence remains. The journey ends with a flight home.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Shanghai, meeting with the guide and accommodation. The program includes the Yu Garden, the observation deck of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the Shanghai History Museum, lunch in a Chinese cuisine restaurant. The day is busy, but in the evening return to the hotel and free time.
Day 2
Breakfast at the hotel and free time. A day without excursions — you can breathe out and simply wander around the city on your own.
Day 3
Breakfast, check-out and the excursion program: the Jade Buddha Temple and a cruise along the Huangpu River. After lunch — transfer to the railway station and departure to Xi'an on an overnight train with compartments.
Day 4
Arrival in Xi'an, meeting with the guide and accommodation. The main impression of the day is the ancient Banpo site and the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Return to the hotel and free time.
Day 5
Breakfast, check-out and a visit to the ancient city wall and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Lunch — a dumpling banquet, the traditional cuisine of Shaanxi Province. Then transfer to the railway station and departure by train to Beijing.
Day 6
Arrival in Beijing, meeting with the guide, accommodation and rest. The program includes the Temple of Heaven and a walk along the Dashilan pedestrian street. For an additional payment, you can visit the circus or Beijing opera.
Day 7
Breakfast at the hotel and a trip out of town: the Great Wall of China and the Ming Dingling Tombs, lunch in a country restaurant. Return to the hotel and free time.
Day 8
Breakfast, check-out and transfer to the airport. Flight home.
