Istanbul, Ankara and Cappadocia: 6-day sightseeing tour

This trip is about a change of scenery: first a big city on the water, then a capital on a plain, and then a land where everything looks unusual. The route leads from Istanbul to Ankara, from there to Cappadocia and back to Istanbul. Six days account for five nights, and the rhythm will be uneven: there will be days when you almost never leave the bus, and days when you want to linger longer at one viewpoint.

The first day is the calmest. After the journey you just need to get to the hotel and recover, you can have dinner on your own. This is a starting point, not a packed part.

The second day is urban and very dense in impressions. Istanbul here is shown through architecture that remembers empires: ancient monuments by the square, a cathedral with many names, a mosque with six minarets, a huge palace on a hill. A separate part is a boat trip along the Bosphorus, and this entire excursion is paid for separately.

The third day is a travel day. First Ankara, where you will see the Atatürk Museum and the personal belongings of Mustafa Kemal, then a long road to Cappadocia, and upon arrival that very unusual landscape will open up. Here excursions are included, as well as breakfasts and dinners.

The fourth day is about the sky and crafts. A hot air balloon flight at dawn is possible, but for an additional fee, as is a visit to the Göreme Museum; there will be viewpoints, a ceramic factory, a Turkish delight tasting and a carpet factory. In the evening, if desired, you can go to a dervish show, also for an additional fee.

The fifth day returns you to Istanbul by a flight within the route, without a long road. You are again accommodated in a hotel, dinner is on your own.

The sixth day is departure: the bus will take you to the airport, the time depends on the flight. This is a holiday for those who are ready to move a lot and get up early; those who want a calm pace should decide in advance which additional payments to take and which to skip.
