About the programme

Five nights in Istanbul is a trip in which the city reveals itself gradually, layer by layer: from the Byzantine walls and Ottoman mosques to a walk along the Golden Horn bay. The rhythm here is calm: on excursion days the excursion takes half a day, and the rest of the time remains for independent walks, additional excursions and shopping — including trips that can be taken on the spot.

The first two excursion days are built around history: one is about the Ottoman heritage and the Hippodrome square, the other is about the city as a whole, its panorama, the bridge across the Bosphorus and the bay. These are different angles: in one case you stand close to stone and tile, in the other you look at Istanbul from above.

The third excursion day differs in that one of its stops is inside the Dolmabahce Palace: there is gold, crystal and marble there. Please note: the palace is closed on Mondays.

Then follows a completely free day — without excursions, only your own plans. The trip ends with a free day with check-out from the hotel and a transfer to the airport. Air travel, medical insurance and personal expenses are not included in the price; the remuneration for the guide, driver and hotel staff is at your discretion.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

Arrival in Istanbul and accommodation at the hotel. The day passes in travel chores: you are met at the airport and taken to the place of rest. No excursions are planned — you can unpack your suitcase, regain strength after the journey and get ready for tomorrow's acquaintance with the city.

  2. Day 2

Half a day is devoted to the Ottoman heritage. The main impression is the Blue Mosque: six minarets outside and blue tiles in the decoration of the halls. Nearby is the Hippodrome square, where chariot races once roared, and the German Fountain of Wilhelm, finished with great skill. A few more stops — from the outside: the Hagia Sophia mosque and the Hurrem Sultan hammam. After the excursion there remains free time for additional excursions and shopping.

  3. Day 3

A sightseeing tour of the city, also for half a day — and this is a day of panoramas. You will drive across the Bosphorus Bridge, connecting Europe and Asia, see all of Istanbul from above and walk along the Golden Horn bay. Along the way — the Byzantine city walls and the facade of the Dolmabahce Palace from the outside. You will also look in at a factory of leather and fur products, where you can look for souvenirs. The Dolmabahce Palace is closed on Mondays.

  4. Day 4

Half a day in old Istanbul: this day differs in that one of the main stops is inside the palace. You will see the Suleymaniye Mosque, built according to the design of the architect Sinan, and then visit the Dolmabahce Palace — the former residence of the sultans, where inside there is gold, crystal and marble. The rest of the time is free, for additional excursions and shopping.

  5. Day 5

A completely free day. No planned excursions — only your own plans: additional excursions, shopping or simply walks around the city at your own pace.

  6. Day 6

A free day and check-out from the hotel, then a transfer to the airport and departure home. The time before departure can be spent at your own discretion — without excursions and organized stops.
