About the programme

This is a trip through three cities of Uzbekistan, where antiquity coexists with modern life. The route is built unhurriedly: first the capital, then Samarkand, then Bukhara. Between the cities — a road that itself becomes part of the impression: landscapes change outside the window, and a stop in Gijduvon adds a craft chapter to the journey.

The rhythm of the tour is uneven, and that is its meaning. Tashkent greets with noise and spaciousness, Samarkand — with a dense succession of architectural images, Bukhara — with a slowing down and the opportunity to walk the streets without haste. The day in Samarkand is fuller than the others: it concentrates the most of what one wants to examine up close. In Bukhara the program is divided into two parts, and this gives air between impressions.

The trip will suit those who love cities with history and are not afraid of transfers. Here there is a lot of walking, a lot of contemplation and several lunches that are remembered no less than the excursions: pilaf in Tashkent and lunch in the house of ceramicists near Gijduvon. Evenings remain free — one can simply stroll or rest at the hotel.

Overnight stays await in Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara. Breakfasts are included, as are part of the lunches according to the program. Flights are not included in the price, but within the route everything is thought out: transfers, air-conditioned transport and a guide's accompaniment. The tour ends in Bukhara or Tashkent — depending on how it is more convenient to fly out.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Tashkent and meeting at the airport. Then — free time without excursions and transport: one can rest after the journey or go out into the city on one's own. Tashkent is the capital and largest city of the country, where ancient monuments and oriental bazaars coexist with modern quarters. Night at the hotel.

  2. Day 2

    The morning is devoted to the Old City of Tashkent: Khast-Imam Square, Barak-Khan Madrasah, Kafal-al-Shashi Mausoleum, Chorsu Bazaar and a walk through the old mahallas. The main impression of the day — lunch at the Central Asian Pilaf Center "Besh Qozon", where Uzbek pilaf is cooked in cauldrons. Then the road to Samarkand. Night at the hotel.

  3. Day 3

    The fullest day of the trip: Samarkand, the legendary pearl of the Great Silk Road. Registan Square with three madrasahs, Gur-Emir Mausoleum, Bibi-Khanum Mosque, Shahi-Zinda Complex and the Ulugh Beg Observatory Museum — all this adds up to a dense stream of impressions. There will also be the Siab Bazaar. Night at the hotel.

  4. Day 4

    Transfer to Gijduvon, where a visit to the Narzullaev family — hereditary master ceramicists — awaits. Here one can see how ceramic items are created: molding, firing, artistic painting. Lunch in the house of ceramicists with a tasting of Gijduvon shashliks. Then — the road to Bukhara, accommodation at the hotel and an excursion: Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa Palace, Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble, Kukeldash Madrasah and Nadir Divan-Begi Madrasah, a walk through the trading domes. Night in Bukhara.

  5. Day 5

    The second day in Bukhara — calmer than the previous one. The program includes the Samanid Mausoleum, Chashma Ayub Mausoleum, Bolo-Khauz Complex, Ark Fortress, Poi-Kalyan Complex, Abdulaziz-Khan Madrasah and Ulugh Beg Madrasah. This is a city of madrasahs, minarets and ancient streets, where the atmosphere of an ancient trading city has been preserved. For those who wish — an option of departure from Tashkent with a transfer by train. Night in Bukhara or Tashkent.

  6. Day 6

    Completion of the program. In the morning — a group transfer to the airport of Bukhara or Tashkent three hours before the flight. Then — an independent journey home.
