About the programme

This trip is arranged as two different journeys in one: first the north of Vietnam with its capital, limestone mountains and water, and then a long stay in the center of the country, by the sea. The rhythm turns out uneven on purpose: the first days are filled with transfers and impressions, and then comes a long calm stretch where one can be in no hurry.

The northern part of the route passes through Hanoi, Ninh Binh province and Halong Bay. There is a lot of water and stone here: boats go between the rocks and enter caves, and in the evening the horizon changes beyond recognition. One night is spent on board a cruise ship, the rest — in hotels.

After that the route moves to Da Nang — a city in the central part of the country, from where it is convenient to return to what has already been seen and to discover new things. Here the trip turns into a measured beach rhythm with outings in different directions.

The program includes three full days of excursions, which are distributed among these days of rest in agreement with the receiving party. The rest of the time — beach, walks and shopping as desired. Meals are partly included: breakfasts, several lunches and dinners; some meals remain at one's own choice at one's own expense.

The trip will suit those who are ready for a change of scenery: first active transfers and water, then a long stay by the sea. The international flight is not included in the price, and insurance against non-departure can be arranged as desired.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

    The first day is arrival in Hanoi and a gentle inclusion in the trip. At the airport they meet you and help you go through visa and border procedures, then a transfer to the hotel and rest after the flight. If it works out with the arrival time, a walking tour of the old quarters of the city is possible, and the day ends with dinner.

  2. Day 2

    From Hanoi the route goes to Ninh Binh province, the road takes about two hours. The main impression of the day is water: from the Trang An pier a boat trip begins through a labyrinth of caves and underground lakes, and the rocks around are changing all the time. After lunch — a visit to Hoa Lu, connected with the history of Vietnamese dynasties, and return to Hanoi.

  3. Day 3

    This is the day when the trip truly takes to the water: after breakfast the group sets off for Halong Bay and boards a cruise ship. Cabins, lunch with fresh seafood, passage to Lan Ha Bay, a visit to the Dark and Bright caves with an inner lake. The overnight stay will be right on board, and the table on the ship is set three times a day.

  4. Day 4

    The day begins on the upper deck, where one can warm up under the guidance of an instructor, and after that a light breakfast follows. Then — a kayak trip to Tra Bau bay among rocks of fancy shapes. After lunch and the end of the cruise — return to Hanoi, flight to Da Nang, meeting with the guide, transfer to the hotel and rest on the beach.

  5. Day 5–13

    A long stretch of rest begins on the coast of Da Nang: a hotel on a breakfast basis, free time for the beach and shopping. On three of these days full excursion outings are held: a sightseeing trip around the city with the Marble Mountains, caves and the statue of the goddess Quan Am; an ascent to Ba Na Hills with cable cars and the Golden Bridge; a trip to Hoi An with the My Son complex, the Japanese covered bridge and ancient houses. The day ends with return to the Da Nang hotel.

  6. Day 14

    The last day — packing and moving: after breakfast the room is vacated, then a flight to the airport of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City for a further flight home. This is a technical day without excursions, the main thing is to get to the exit without haste.
