About the programme

Seven days across the north and center of Vietnam — this is a journey where the landscape changes sharply and generously: from the old quarters of Hanoi to limestone labyrinths, from water to mountains, from imperial antiquity to the tropical coast. The rhythm of the trip is uneven: after getting acquainted with the capital you go deep into the province, then spend a night on board among the islands, and then move to the central part of the country, where the days become warmer and freer.

The route is built so that heavy transfers alternate with slow walks. Car journeys take about two hours each, and between the north and the center there is a domestic flight. A night on a ship in the bay gives a feeling of detachment from the shore, and the hotel part in Da Nang is an opportunity to breathe out and not pack a suitcase every day.

The trip will suit those who want to see Vietnam as different within one week and are not afraid of changing scenery. The days are full of impressions, but do not turn into a race: almost every evening you return to the hotel, and once you fall asleep to the measured splash of water.

Meals are thought out: breakfasts, lunches and dinners on the cruise are included, there are stops where you can try local cuisine, and some meals remain at your discretion. The international flight is not included in the program, domestic flights along the route are organized.

The last day is arranged so that after sightseeing in Da Nang you move to Hanoi and from there fly home — or, for an additional payment, continue the journey. This is a flexible point: the program ends, but the vacation can continue.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

The first day is a soft immersion in Hanoi. At the airport you are taken under care: an assistant guides you through visa and border procedures, a guide accompanies you to the hotel, where you can recover after the road. If time allows, a walking part through the old quarters awaits you, where the city shows itself through narrow streets and the noise of trading quarters. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

  2. Day 2

From Hanoi you go to Ninh Binh province — the road takes about two hours. The main impression of the day is a boat ride among connected caves and underground lakes: the boat glides through dozens of natural arches, and the vaults are overgrown with bizarre stalactites. A stop in Hoa Lu stands apart, where the capital of an ancient state once was and from where several dynasties came at once. You return to Hanoi and stay overnight at the hotel.

  3. Day 3

The day is fully devoted to water and islands. After breakfast you go to Halong Bay, board a cruise ship and settle into the cabins. Lunch takes place on board, and the ship heads toward Lan Ha Bay — around rise limestone cliffs of the most varied outlines. Then caves await you, where the rocks part over a hidden body of water. You spend the night in a cabin on the ship, and meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  4. Day 4

The morning on deck can begin with tai chi gymnastics, then a light breakfast is served in the ship's restaurant. After that — a kayaking trip in Tra Bau bay, squeezed among rocks of bizarre shapes. When the cruise ends and the cabins are vacated, you return to Hanoi and from there fly to Da Nang. In Da Nang a guide meets you and takes you to the hotel.

  5. Day 5

This is a day of mountains and heights. After breakfast you set off for Ba Na Hills and ascend by cable car — one of the longest and highest in the region — to an amusement park on the summit. From the observation deck wide views open up, and lunch is included in the program. In the park there are pagodas, a Buddha statue, Fantasy Park and an alpine coaster, and recently the Golden Bridge opened: a curved gilded passage held by two gigantic hands. Free time for rest, then return to the hotel in Da Nang.

  6. Day 6

The day begins with a trip to My Son — a complex of ancient religious structures among the jungle, about an hour from Hoi An. This place is included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. After lunch you explore Hoi An itself: an old port where western merchants called as early as the 15th–19th centuries, with its mixture of architectural styles. The program includes the covered Japanese bridge-temple of the 16th century, Phuc Kien temple and the dwellings of Chinese traders, where carved decor and collections of antiquities have been preserved. Return to the hotel in Da Nang.

  7. Day 7

The last day is a sightseeing tour of Da Nang. First you go to the Marble Mountains: inside them huge caves with temples, statues and pagodas are hidden, and at the foot is the village of Non Nuoc, known for stone carvers. After lunch — the statue of the goddess Quan Am, facing the sea, with tiers inside and figures of Buddha. Nearby is Linh Ung pagoda with an observation deck overlooking Da Nang bay and the city. Then a flight to Hanoi, from where you fly home or, for an additional payment, continue the journey.
