About the programme

This trip is about contrast: the north of Vietnam with its cool mountains and waters, and then the coast of Nha Trang, where the rhythm is completely different. Two weeks add up to a route where cities give way to nature, and nature gives way to the sea. It all begins in Hanoi, from where the road leads to Ninh Binh province, then to Sapa, to Halong Bay, and only after that — to the beaches.

The first days are Hanoi and its surroundings. The old quarters of the city, where you can simply walk on foot and look around, and then — a boat trip among caves and underground lakes in Ninh Binh. This day sets the tone: a lot of movement, but also many pauses to look at what is around. The night brings you back to the city.

Sapa is a separate chapter. The road there takes about six hours, and upon arrival you find yourself at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level. Here there is different air and a different pace: mountains, villages, a cable car to Fansipan — the highest peak of Indochina. A day in Sapa is about the ascent and about getting to know the local tribes, their villages and their way of life. This is not a hurried day, but also not a relaxed one: there are plenty of impressions.

Next — Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay. A cruise around the bay, a night on the ship in a cabin, caves with an inner lake, kayaks around Tra Bau Bay. Here the rhythm slows down: water, rocks, food on board. The morning of the next day gives the opportunity to do tai chi gymnastics on the deck, and then — on the road again, to Nha Trang.

The last days are the beach and free time. Nha Trang greets you with its coast and the opportunity to simply rest after the intense first half of the trip. The days here are not scheduled: breakfast, sea, rest. It all ends with a flight to Hanoi and departure home.

Who is this trip for? For those who want to see different sides of Vietnam — both mountains and water, both city and beach. It will suit those who are not afraid of transfers and are ready for each day to be unlike the previous one. This is not a measured rest from the first day, but a journey with an increasing pace and a soft finale.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

Arrival in Hanoi, meeting with an assistant for visa and border procedures, transfer to the hotel. Depending on the time of arrival — a walking tour of the old quarters of the city. Dinner and night at the hotel.

  2. Day 2

After breakfast — transfer to Ninh Binh province, about two hours on the road. The main impression of the day — a boat trip along a system of connected caves and underground lakes, which begins from the Trang An pier. Along the way we pass through caves with the names Darkness, Light and others. After lunch — a visit to the place of Hoa Lu, which was the capital of Dai Viet. Return to Hanoi, night at the hotel.

  3. Day 3

Breakfast and departure to Sapa — a world of mysterious cultures. The ascent to an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level takes approximately six hours. Upon arrival — accommodation at the hotel and lunch. Free time for shopping. Night in Sapa.

  4. Day 4

After breakfast — ascent to Fansipan mountain, the highest peak of Indochina. A cable car more than six kilometers long takes you to the top in fifteen minutes. Then — getting to know the local tribes: the village of Cat Cat, where the Black Hmong live, and the villages of Ta Van and Lao Chai. Lunch on this day is especially traditional. Night in Sapa.

  5. Day 5

After breakfast — a walk around Ham Rong park; those who wish can climb Ham Rong mountain, this is optional. Then — Tram Ton pass and a photo stop at Thac Bac waterfall. After lunch — transfer to Hanoi. Night in Hanoi.

  6. Day 6

After breakfast — departure to Halong Bay, about two hours on the road, boarding the cruise ship. Accommodation in cabins and departure into the bay. Lunch with fresh seafood on board, the ship heads towards Lan Ha Bay. Visit to the Dark and Bright caves with an inner lake. Night on the ship in a cabin, meals on the cruise include breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  7. Day 7

In the morning on the upper deck you can take part in a tai chi gymnastics lesson, then a light breakfast in the ship's restaurant. After that — a kayak trip around Tra Bau Bay, surrounded by rocks of bizarre shapes. After lunch and check-out from the cabins — return to Hanoi and transfer to the airport for a flight to Nha Trang. Accommodation at the hotel, free time.

  8. Day 8–13

Days 8–13 — Nha Trang. Breakfast at the hotel, free time, rest on the beach. This is the calmest part of the trip: sea, sun and the opportunity not to hurry anywhere.

  9. Day 14

After breakfast — check-out from the room and flight to Hanoi airport, from where you will depart home. The day concludes the trip.
