About the programme

The trip is built around two poles: noisy southern Ho Chi Minh City with its streets and the water of the delta — and calm Da Nang, where sea and mountains replace each other. You start with the city, then go into rivers and villages, and after that move to the center of the country, in order to make forays from there — to marble rocks, to the highlands and to ancient cities.

The rhythm is uneven: the first two days are filled with transfers and impressions, then a long respite by the coast begins, diluted by three full days of excursions. This is a trip for those who want to combine the beach with a meaningful acquaintance with the country, without hurrying and without changing the hotel every night.

The south of Vietnam greets with water: boats, canals, narrow channels among greenery. The center is verticals: cable cars, statues, bridges and pagodas on the slopes. The contrast between these two parts is the main feeling of the route.

There are no night transfers, all movements according to the program are short or organized by flight. The international flight is not included in the price, internal air tickets along the route are provided by the program.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

    The first acquaintance with Vietnam begins right at the airport: an assistant guides through visa and border formalities, then a guide meets and takes you to the hotel. After a long journey — time to rest. If you arrive on a daytime flight, you have time to walk along Dong Khoi Street and have dinner.

  2. Day 2

    A day of water and greenery: the road to My Tho with a stop at the Dong Tam snake farm, then a boat along the Tien River. Along the way — quiet villages, acquaintance with the local way of life, a treat of natural honey and garden fruits, the sounds of folk instruments and watching how coconut caramel is boiled. Back to Ho Chi Minh City with a stop at a restaurant in My Tho, where you can have dinner for an additional fee and optionally.

  3. Day 3

    A turning-point day: a flight to Da Nang and check-in at a hotel in the center of the country. After the transfer — beach and rest. This is a day of changing scenery: instead of city bustle and river channels — sea and coast.

  4. Day 4–13

    A long stretch by the sea with breakfasts and free time for the beach and shopping. On three of these days — full excursions: to the Marble Mountains with caves, temples and the Non Nuoc carving village, then to the Quan Am statue and Linh Ung Pagoda; to the Ba Na Hills highlands with a cable car and the Golden Bridge; and to ancient Hoi An with a trip to the Cham structures of My Son. Each excursion takes a whole day, the remaining days stay free.

  5. Day 14

    After breakfast the room is vacated, and the route leads back to Ho Chi Minh City, from where you are to set off home. If desired and for an additional fee, you can extend the rest by agreeing on additional days.
