About the programme

This trip is a journey through Vietnam from north to south, where mountain landscapes give way to the sea coast, and noisy cities give way to the silence of water. The route begins in Hanoi, passes through Ninh Binh and Halong Bay, then continues with a seaside holiday in Nha Trang, on Phu Quoc island or in Da Nang — depending on the flight program. It all ends in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.

The rhythm of the trip is uneven: several busy days with excursions and transfers, then almost a week of quiet rest on the coast, and again two days with sightseeing of the city and the river. This is convenient for those who want both to see the country and to lie on the beach.

The northern part of the route is water and stone. Boats through underground lakes, a cruise on the bay, caves with stalactites, the old quarters of Hanoi. The southern part is heat, the river, fruit orchards and the urban bustle of Ho Chi Minh City.

The international flight is not included in the program, while domestic flights within the country are organized along the route. Accommodation is in hotels of the chosen category, optionally, and in a cabin of a cruise ship. Meals are partially included: breakfasts, several lunches and dinners.

The trip will suit those who do not mind transfers and are ready for a change of rhythm — from sightseeing pace to beach pace and back.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, independent transfer to a flight to Hanoi. At the airport they meet with a sign, but without a guide — only a transfer to the hotel. Check-in and night in Hanoi. Meals are not provided on this day.

  2. Day 2

The first full day is an introduction to Hanoi. After breakfast the guide leads the group around the city: the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the Temple of Literature, Tran Quoc Pagoda on West Lake. A separate impression is a walking tour through the old quarters, where the streets are named after crafts, including the "silver" Hang Bac, and a look into the old house at 87 Ma May Street. Then Dong Xuan Market, St Joseph's Church, Hoan Kiem Lake of the returned sword and Ngoc Son Temple. Lunch is included, night in Hanoi.

  3. Day 3

The day goes to water and history. From Hanoi we go to Ninh Binh, to the Trang An pier, from where a boat trip through connected caves and underground lakes begins. We do not pass through all of them, but the most impressive ones — with the names Darkness, Light, Seo, Nau Ruou, Three Drops. After lunch — Hoa Lu, the former capital of the first centralized state and the birthplace of three dynasties, with a temple in honor of two mandarins. Return to Hanoi, night there. Breakfast and lunch are included.

  4. Day 4

After breakfast — transfer to Halong Bay, about two hours on the way. Boarding a cruise ship, accommodation in cabins and departure along the bay. Lunch with fresh seafood on board, the ship heads towards Lan Ha Bay. Visit to the Dark and Bright caves with an inner lake. Night on the ship, dinner on the cruise.

  5. Day 5

Light breakfast in the ship's restaurant while it goes to another part of the bay. After lunch, check-out from the cabins and the end of the cruise. Then a flight to the holiday — to Nha Trang, Da Nang or Phu Quoc, depending on the flight program. At the airport, meeting with the guide, transfer and check-in at the hotel. Meals: breakfast and early lunch on the cruise.

  6. Day 6–9

Days 6–9 are set aside for independent rest at the sea — in Nha Trang, on Phu Quoc island or in Da Nang. Beach, free time, no excursions according to the program. Every morning — breakfast at the hotel.

  7. Day 10

The day of transfer from the sea to Ho Chi Minh City. In the morning after breakfast the room is checked out, and the car takes you to the airport — the guide does not accompany. Then a flight, and on arrival again a meeting and check-in, also without accompaniment. The night passes in Ho Chi Minh City, of food — only breakfast.

  8. Day 11

The day is dedicated to the Mekong Delta. On the way — the Dong Tam snake farm. Then transfer to a boat and movement along the Tien River, part of the Mekong, to Con Phung islet, where lunch with local dishes is served. Then the boat goes past coastal villages to Ben Tre, and along the shore tourists are introduced to the farm: they taste honey, listen to folk melodies, watch how coconut sweets are cooked. Return to the hotel, free time for dinner and a walk around Ho Chi Minh City. Night in Ho Chi Minh City, breakfast and lunch are included.

  9. Day 12

A sightseeing tour of Ho Chi Minh City with lunch. After lunch — the War Museum, Ngoc Hoang Pagoda, Chinatown and Ben Thanh Market. Free time for shopping, and at the end of the day — dinner on board a ship that goes along Saigon. Night in Ho Chi Minh City. Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  10. Day 13

Breakfast is early, then the room is checked out and you go to Ho Chi Minh City airport — without a guide. From there, departure home. Of food on this day — only breakfast.
