At the hotel the food was okay, but the coffee — it's instant powder, yuck. but the staff aren't pushy, nobody blows in your ears. in the room there was an air conditioner that rattled like an old fridge, had to sleep under a sheet on the floor, my husband was cracking up. we booked excursions on the spot, not from the tour operator — it came out cheaper, though the bus was beat up and the guide talks really fast, I just didn't get half of it and looked out the window. bought a souvenir at the market - a felt toy, even though I didn't need it at all. paid two hundred som and I'm not complaining. came back tanned, happy, even though with scraped knees after the mountains

I went to Issyk-Kul because a friend had been inviting me for a long time, and then work also gave me vacation in May. The manager arranged everything quickly, the hotel turned out to have a view of the mountains, but for some reason the room smelled musty and I had to air it out. Otherwise — the lake is cold of course, but I still swam and was happy with the trip.

The lake is really something else, the water is clear all the way to the bottom, but the pebbles on the shore — well they're so big that you can't really walk barefoot properly, had to swim in flip-flops. As for the accomodation and food everything seemed ok, they fed us well, though it was monotonous, but with the excursions it turned out messy: they promised one thing, in the end brought us to some market with clothes, where we just sat for an extra hour in a bus with a broken air conditioner, but the mountains made up for everything, yeah.

Took a tour to Kyrgyzstan because I needed a break from work and I've already been everywhere in Kazakhstan. Cholpon-Ata is a cozy place on Issyk-Kul, mountains, clean air, I walked along the shore every morning. A bit annoying that almost all the cafes on the embankment were closed at that time and I had to look for where to eat, but overall I was happy with the trip...

We went there for Issyk-Kul, though I actually just wanted a change of scenery after a crisis at work, and then the manager suggested Cholpon-Ata, and I agreed. The lake in February is, of course, a whole separate story: the air is freezing, but at the market I bought sea buckthorn oil from a babushka who was selling straight out of a thermos, and that little thing stuck with me more than all the views. I'll give it a four, because the hotel turned out to have a creaky bed, but otherwise — I'd come back again.

went to Cholpon-Ata through the travel agency and was happy. the lake mountains air — all as it should be, though in the room the balcony door squeaked so much i flinched every time. if i go again i'll take the same tour without tinking.

came back from Cholpon-Ata and still can't forget how i went out to the shore in the morning, where the ice at the water's edge crunched under my feet, and the fog over the lake was so thick that the opposite shore just disappeared. booked the tour at a regular agency, no expectations, but the trip turned out surprisingly calm, and even the small minus with the cold wind in the evenings didn't ruin the feeling, because during the day the sun warmed so much that i wanted to sit on the rocks and never leave.

The vacation in Cholpon-Ata turned out great, the weather was hot, and the water in Issyk-Kul is just a fairy tale, though it's bracing at first. The manager did everything smoothly, without delays or unnecessary fuss, for which thanks to him. A pleasant impresion remained from the trip, five stars.

But the mountains, the air — you breathe and can't breathe enough, even though the wind was knocking you off your feet. Came back happy, even though I was tired as a dog.

hotel is right by the lake, you walk out — and it's Issyk-Kul right there, only the wind is icy in the morning, i bought a hat at a local stall for a thousand, but the view from the room i wouldn't trade for anything. they also heated the pool in the evening — or maybe i imagined it, because after the banya i couldn't think straight anymore, but i swam and it was bliss, though the robe in the room turned out a bit too small)

And in the evening I sat on a rock again and looked at the water, thought about different things, both about work and about how I shouldn't have not taken a swimsuit. but I came back alive and happy, even though I got sunburned like a fool

What I remember most is going to the market — they sell these felt slippers there, I bought two pairs (one turned out too small, gave it to my neighbor). There was also some trip to hot springs whree everything was murky, but your body feels light after. I'm not a fan of all these guided tours honestly. Food at the cafe nearby — thought it would be worse, but the manti there are great. Came back with mild tiredness but in a good mood

What I remember most about the place is the market, where I touched some incredible felt things with my hands, and the air that made my head spin — in the good sense of the word.
